Transducers

Blow moulding machines use a variety of transducers to measure position and pressure.

We primarily stock transducers for the parison programming functions of the machine but we can offer advice on the selection and supply of transducers used for mould and carriage position.

Traditionally long stoke movements were measured by 'linear potentiometers' but these are gradually being replaced by the 'Magnetostrictive' transducers. Linear 'pots' have contacts that wear and are susceptible to dirt whereas the 'MS' transducers are contactless, and therefore have a virtually infinite life.

Sometimes we can improve the repeatability of the moulding process by retrofitting a transducer with a different specification. 'Fine Tuning' the parison programming system is our speciality !
